What Are You Full Of?

Seems like a loaded question, doesn’t it? It is.

What you choose to be filled with settles your peace quotient.

It determines whether you will have peace or not.

What you choose to be filled with is a matter of life or death.

Eternal life or death that is. Check it out in Romans 8:

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God….12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

Choose Today The Outcomes of Your Tomorrow

What you set your heart and mind on, you set your life on. What you fill your mind with, has the potential to result in pure worship or putrid idolatry. It’s your choice.

If you seek God to govern your life with the Holy Spirit- you set your mind on Him, you map out goals for His kingdom, and you chip away at those goals each day in His power, God will fill you with Himself- His power, His Spirit, His love, His nature. And you can call Him “Abba” (Daddy).

If you set your mind on the stuff of earth, you map out goals to satisfy your cravings, you chip away at goals to maximize your portfolio excluding the eternal in even your most fleeting thoughts, your fruit may be great. It may be profitability. It may be pleasure. It may be applause. But it won’t be peace. Definitely not eternal peace.

What my Pastor Jared said in his sermon That You May Know: Joy Complete is so true:

Many people aren’t full of Christ because they’re full of themselves

Lord, help that not be true of us. Help us each day to seek You for what You alone can give. Help us each day to seek to live by Your power in Your presence for Your pleasure.
