Baked Goat Cheese Marinara
Freshness pops from this recipe from the tomato and Italian spices. Paired with the warm, creamy comfort of the goat cheese, this dish is delectable.
My favorite restaurant in Chicago was a little Tapas restaurant right down the street from my dorm on N LaSalle Dr. It served a baked goat cheese with caramelized onions dish like this. One of the most delightful things I’ve been able to do in recent years is recreate this dish in my own home for those I love.
Ingredients
- 8 oz goat cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 onion
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 Tablespoon Basil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Oregano
- 1 Tablespoon Parsley (more if fresh)
- Fresh Parsley for the top
Directions
- Caramelize the onions in the butter. During the last minute, crush the garlic in and stir until fragrant.
- Add the onions and garlic to the marinara, along with all the other spices.
- Place goat cheese in the middle.
- Bake 30 minutes on 375
- Serve with crusty bread
